GM issues a recall to the sensor and power steering problems

General Motors Co. issues recall for around 16K cars in the United States and Canada to concentrate on sensor and power steering problems.

Cars being affected by this recall are
  • Chevrolet Impala
  • Buick LaCrosse

GM is recalling thousands of Chevy Impalas to scrutinize for proper installation of the power steering hose.

Hose is an essential part of the car, if misrouted; it can be damaged and releases a fluid. If the fluid falls onto hot engine parts it acts as a potential for a fire. Sources say that total

  • Impalas affected by the recall are around 10,350 in the United States and the rest in Canada
  • LaCrosses affected by the recall are around 4,293

If the electronic break control module is failed to reprogram, an incorrect calibration may occur which causes the electronic stability system to identify a sensor break down inappropriately and fails to illuminate the warning light.

GM says that if a sensor malfunctions, then the driver would feel difficulty in maintaining the car's driving path and speed.
